As for myself, Jamie Myers, Owner / Operator of Pendulum Home Maintenance, I'm thrilled to share with you a little of my story and background .
I've accrued over 25 years of experience in the industry. Starting out up north, in the thriving metropolis of Prince George BC, I worked in a hand full of lumber and hardware retail stores. It was here I honed my knowledge surrounding sheet goods, lumber tarp logistics, and staying warm enough to not become a frozen, safety orange yard pylon. I spent a little time in Kelowna BC, also in the yard trying to stay either warm or cool this time, but having the chance to attend a collage carpentry course. I later moved to Vancouver and after a healthy stint with the beloved False Creek Windsor Plywood, I transitioned into the self employed hardwood flooring installation game. I was pleased to discover that the majority of floors are located indoors. And on top of that temperate and juicy perk, my clientele (most of them willingly) trusted me enough with their homes to allow me to expand my skills into further areas of finishing carpentry. I spent several years working with home owners and contractors providing a variety of interior carpentry and hardware based services. The majority of which included doors, moulding, trim and hardware installations along with all sorts of interesting interior finishing projects. Finally and fortunately, I spent the last 12 years with a great family run development company. I was able to further expand my knowledge of the industry, customer care and project management. Perhaps most important, I spent over a decade learning from the best, in performing a countless number of hands on residential and commercial maintenance projects.
Self owned business's, I know are not easy, but I had to return. Not just to remain indoors, but to find fulfillment and challenge. The challenges come in all shapes and forms, keeps things interesting and me busy. The fulfillment comes in every aspect, from the creation and operation of a small business, right down to the smallest of tasks. Not to mention, the professional completion of work provided to another happy customer. I really love what I do. While not always glamorous in nature, the satisfaction I get from helping my clients is rewarding. So give me a shout and let me know what home deficiencies you've been putting off or what maintenance issue has just reared its head. Maybe you have a creative project in mind or just looking for a change in scenery. What ever the case may be, I'm here to help.
